Brookdale Senior Living Inc.
Brookdale Senior Living Inc. is the largest operator of senior living communities in the United States, headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee. Its mission is "to enrich the lives of those we serve with compassion, respect, excellence and integrity." The company is dedicated to providing senior living solutions within purpose-built properties designed for high-quality service and care.
Brookdale offers a comprehensive range of services, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, and continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). These services cater primarily to seniors aged 75 and older, encompassing those who are self-sufficient but seek community, as well as those requiring assistance with daily activities or specialized care for cognitive decline. The company also provides at-home care services and operates 645 communities across 41 states as of June 30, 2025.
Under the leadership of CEO Nick Stengle, who assumed the role in October 2025, Brookdale is pursuing a strategy to increase its ownership of communities, aiming for over 75% of its consolidated units to be owned by year-end 2025. The company has reported improving occupancy rates, reaching 84% in the third quarter of 2025 and 80.1% in the second quarter of 2025. Brookdale Senior Living has been recognized for its quality, with hundreds of its communities receiving "Best Senior Living" recognition by U.S. News & World Report. Additionally, the company actively supports the Alzheimer's Association, raising over $1.2 million in 2025 for the Walk to End Alzheimer's.
