Advertising & Sponsored Content Policy

What “Sponsored” means

When you see a Sponsored badge on an article or column, it means that the content was produced or commissioned as a paid placement by an advertiser or commercial partner. BriefGlance received monetary or other compensation in connection with that content.

This is also referred to as native advertising, paid content, or advertiser-sponsored content.

How we label sponsored content

  • In article feeds and listings — a clearly visible "Sponsored" badge appears above the article headline before you click.
  • On the article page — a disclosure notice appears at the very top of the page, before the headline, stating "This is a paid placement."
  • On sponsored columns — a banner at the top of the column page discloses that all content within is paid advertising.
  • In links — all outbound links within sponsored content carry the rel="sponsored" attribute in accordance with Google’s Webmaster Guidelines.

Editorial independence

Sponsored content is kept editorially separate from BriefGlance’s independent news coverage. Our editorial team does not produce sponsored articles, and advertisers have no influence over our independent reporting or editorial rankings.

Compliance

Our disclosure practices are designed to comply with the FTC’s Native Advertising Guidelines and the IAB Native Advertising Playbook.
