The Toy Association is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(6) business trade association dedicated to the toy industry. Founded on June 9, 1916, as the Toy Manufacturers of America, Inc., its mission is to be a unifying force for its members' creativity, responsibility, and global success, advocating for their needs and championing the benefits of play. The organization is headquartered in New York City, New York, with advocacy offices in Washington, D.C.
The Association serves as a vital resource for manufacturers, retailers, licensors, and other entities within the youth entertainment industry. Key services include advocating on behalf of members regarding toy safety, legislative, and trade issues, as well as producing the renowned Toy Fair® (including Toy Fair New York). It provides members with programs, products, actionable research, and events to foster business growth. The Toy Association also plays a significant role in philanthropy through its charitable arm, The Toy Foundation™, and has been a leader in global toy safety, contributing to the development of the first toy safety standard. Its manufacturing members account for a substantial portion of the U.S. toy and game sales.
Under the leadership of President & CEO Greg Ahearn and Chairperson of the Board Geoffrey Greenberg, The Toy Association continues to lead the health and growth of the U.S. toy industry. Recent activities include the announcement of its 2026 Board of Directors and Executive Committee in February 2026, and the induction of industry icons into the 2026 Toy Industry Hall of Fame in November 2025. The 120th Toy Fair, held in February 2026, showcased the latest toy and play trends. The global toy industry experienced a rebound in 2025 with a 7% increase in sales, and U.S. retail toy sales reached $30.3 billion in the same year.
