Virbac SA is a French independent pharmaceutical company exclusively dedicated to animal health, founded in 1968 by veterinarian Pierre-Richard Dick. Headquartered in Carros, France, its mission is to advance animal health alongside those who care for animals, providing innovative solutions to diagnose, prevent, and treat pathologies, thereby improving the well-being and quality of life for animals globally.
The company develops, manufactures, and distributes a comprehensive range of products and services for both companion animals, including dogs, cats, and ferrets, and livestock, such as cattle, swine, and poultry. Its product portfolio encompasses vaccines, antibiotics, parasiticides, dermatological treatments, dental hygiene solutions, diagnostics, and nutritional products. In 2025, companion animal products accounted for 61% of sales, while farm animal products made up 39%. Virbac operates in over 100 countries through 36 sales subsidiaries, with production and research & development centers spanning five continents.
Virbac is currently positioned as the 6th largest veterinary biopharma group worldwide. Paul Martingell assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer in September 2025, leading the company's strategic and operational management.
