BayCare Health System, Inc.
BayCare Health System is a leading not-for-profit healthcare organization headquartered in Clearwater, Florida. Established in 1997, its core mission is to improve the health of all it serves through community-owned services that uphold high standards of quality and compassionate care.
The system operates 16 hospitals and hundreds of other convenient locations across the Tampa Bay and West Central Florida regions, with plans for further expansion. BayCare offers a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services, including acute care, primary care, imaging, laboratory, behavioral health, homecare, wellness programs, urgent care centers, and surgical facilities. It is recognized as West Central Florida's largest provider of cardiac, behavioral health, and pediatric services, and also offers a Medicare Advantage plan, BayCarePlus®.
Under the leadership of President and CEO Stephanie Conners, BayCare Health System recently underwent a significant corporate restructuring. In May 2024, BayCare completed a $4 billion disaffiliation from Trinity Health, ending a 27-year joint operating agreement and establishing itself as a fully independent, locally governed entity. The system is actively expanding its footprint, with a 17th hospital planned for 2027 and ongoing development of ambulatory facilities and freestanding emergency departments. BayCare is nationally recognized for clinical excellence and patient outcomes, and in April 2026, it announced a partnership with robotics startup Rovex to innovate in-hospital patient transport.
