GLOBO Taps AI Veteran Ryan Toohil as CTO to Drive Tech Expansion
PHILADELPHIA, PA – April 07, 2026 – GLOBO Language Solutions, a prominent provider of translation and interpreting services, has announced the appointment of Ryan Toohil as its first Chief Technology Officer. The creation of this new C-suite role signals a significant strategic pivot for the company, underscoring a deep commitment to accelerating its technology roadmap and solidifying its leadership in the rapidly evolving language services industry.
Toohil, a technology leader with over two decades of experience, is tasked with spearheading GLOBO's next phase of innovation, with a particular focus on its artificial intelligence (AI) interpreting capabilities. The move is seen as a direct response to the growing demand for technologically advanced language access solutions in critical sectors like healthcare, government, and education.
"We're excited to welcome Ryan to GLOBO's leadership team," said Dipak Patel, CEO of GLOBO, in a statement. "His excellent track record of scaling technology organizations will be instrumental as we continue to grow and invest in innovation, including our first-to-market artificial intelligence interpreting capabilities. Ryan's expertise will help accelerate our technology vision and further our purpose to make it easier for limited-English-speaking people to communicate when and where it matters most."
A Leader Forged in High-Growth AI Environments
Toohil’s professional background makes him a uniquely suitable choice to lead GLOBO's ambitious tech agenda. He joins the company from Aura, a Boston-based online safety platform, where he served as CTO and technical co-founder. At Aura, he was a key architect in building an AI-powered platform for families, growing the research and development team to over 200 employees and helping scale the company to hundreds of millions of dollars in annual recurring revenue.
His career is marked by a consistent focus on high-growth environments. Before Aura, Toohil spent more than a decade at Endurance International Group (now Newfold Digital), where he rose from a technical project manager to Vice President of Engineering. In that role, he was responsible for products generating over $100 million in annual revenue. His experience is not just in building technology but in scaling the organizations and processes that support it, including integrating personnel and platforms following multiple strategic acquisitions. This track record suggests GLOBO is preparing for a period of aggressive expansion and technological maturation.
Accelerating an Existing Innovation Engine
While Toohil's appointment marks a new chapter, GLOBO is not starting its AI journey from scratch. The Philadelphia-based firm has already established itself as an innovator, earning a Silver Stevie® Award in 2025 for its technology breakthroughs in AI. The company’s core platforms, GLOBO HQ and GLOBO Connect, are enhanced by two key AI-powered solutions: GLOBO KAI™ and GLOBO Live Quality.
GLOBO KAI™ is touted as a healthcare-optimized AI interpreter, designed to provide instant support for non-clinical conversations in over 20 languages. Currently deployed in thousands of U.S. hospitals, it handles informational needs with zero-second connect times, freeing up human interpreters for more complex clinical scenarios.
GLOBO Live Quality is an AI-driven monitoring tool that evaluates 100% of live interpreter sessions in real-time. It checks for background noise, call drops, and professional standards, ensuring compliance and enhancing the quality of every interaction.
These existing products demonstrate a thoughtful, sector-specific approach to AI. By bringing in a leader with Toohil's experience in scaling such platforms to millions of users, GLOBO is poised to enhance these offerings and rapidly develop new capabilities.
A Strategic Play for Market Leadership
The decision to create a CTO position is the latest in a series of strategic moves that highlight GLOBO's ambition. The company's growth has been fueled by a significant investment from VSS Capital Partners in 2021, aimed at both organic expansion and acquisitions. This was followed by the 2023 acquisition of All Access Interpreters, which broadened GLOBO's on-site service capabilities and expanded its network of over 10,000 linguists.
This pattern of growth is reflected in numerous industry accolades. GLOBO has appeared on the Deloitte Technology Fast 500™ list for two consecutive years and was recently named to the 2026 Inc. Regionals: Northeast list of fastest-growing private companies. Its strong market position is further confirmed by top-tier rankings from industry analysts like Slator and Nimdzi, which place it among the leading language service providers in both the U.S. and globally, particularly within the crucial healthcare vertical.
Bridging the Divide with Purpose-Driven Tech
Beyond the business strategy and technological advancements, GLOBO's mission is deeply rooted in social impact. In the United States, where over 68 million people speak a language other than English at home, communication barriers can lead to significant disparities in health outcomes, legal proceedings, and educational attainment. GLOBO’s technology aims to directly address this challenge.
By providing reliable, on-demand language access, the company helps ensure that Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals can be understood during a hospital visit, a court hearing, or a parent-teacher conference. The integration of AI is not about replacing human connection but augmenting it, ensuring that help is available instantly when needed.
Toohil himself acknowledged the importance of this mission in his decision to join the company. "I'm honored to join GLOBO and help lead the company's next phase of technology expansion," he stated. "The opportunity to advance that mission and make a difference in people's lives makes this opportunity especially meaningful." His leadership will now be central to harnessing advanced technology to build a more equitable and accessible world for millions.
