Echo360 Doubles Grants for HBCUs, HSIs to Bridge Edtech Equity Gap

NEW YORK, NY – January 29, 2026 – Global education technology leader Echo360 has launched its annual “e3” grants program, committing over $100,000 to educators and trainers focused on advancing equity, engagement, and evidence in learning. In a significant move for its fifth-year installment, the company announced it will double the award values for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs), and Career & Technical Education (CTE) programs, directly addressing historical funding inequities and the digital divide.

The initiative aims to empower these critical institutions with advanced, AI-powered learning tools and research funding, accelerating innovation where it is most needed. The program is divided into two categories: EchoImpact Grants, offering research funding for current users of Echo360's Echosystem platform, and EchoInnovation Grants, providing in-kind software and services for institutions seeking to implement new technology.

HBCUs and HSIs, which serve a disproportionate number of low-income and first-generation students, have historically been underfunded. Under the 2026 program, eligible HBCUs, HSIs, and CTE programs can receive up to $4,000 in research funding through EchoImpact Grants, double the standard $2,000 award. For EchoInnovation Grants, the value-in-kind award for implementing software solutions like EchoVideo, EchoEngage, or GoReact increases from $5,000 to $10,000.

In 2025 alone, Echo360 awarded 29 grants to a diverse range of organizations, including Loyola Marymount University, Forsyth Technical Community College, the University of Houston Clear Lake, and international institutions like the University of Queensland in Australia.

These grants have enabled tangible improvements in teaching and learning. For example, a past grant recipient from the University of Nebraska Medical Center used the funds to create accessible, video-based learning tools that bridged the gap between classroom theory and real-world clinical practice.

“Our Echo360 Impact Grant supported the translation of clinical knowledge into accessible, video-based learning tools, bridging classroom preparation with real-world practice in our student-run free clinic,” explained M. Nicole Martino, Ph.D., OTR, L, Assistant Professor at the university’s College of Allied Health Professions.

Similarly, a 2025 grant helped the Curtin School of Allied Health produce high-quality, multi-angle videos for physiotherapy students, ensuring equitable access to expert demonstrations of complex techniques.
