A planned trip to Prague will allow U.S. students to collaborate directly with their Ukrainian peers, fostering understanding and resilience. “It’s about building bridges, even – and especially – in times of war,” noted a TEEEM educator.
• West Virginia: Williamson Health & Wellness Center: Addressing health disparities in the underserved community of Williamson, West Virginia, TEEEM students are contributing to the work of the Williamson Health & Wellness Center. This includes supporting initiatives promoting food security, substance abuse treatment, and access to healthcare. The program seeks to understand the root causes of poverty and health inequities in Appalachia, fostering sustainable solutions.
• Afghanistan: AAFE (Afghan American Foundation for Education): Despite ongoing restrictions, TEEEM students are providing educational support to Afghan girls and women through AAFE. This includes contributing to online learning programs and providing resources for street-working children, recognizing the critical need to maintain access to education despite challenging circumstances. “The situation in Afghanistan is heartbreaking, but we’re committed to supporting the resilience of Afghan girls and women,” stated a university student involved in the program.
• Ukraine & Beyond: Bridges 2030: Beyond immediate crisis response, Bridges 2030 provides vital support to forcibly displaced and immigrant communities. TEEEM students work to assist newly arrived families, organize vital aid deliveries, and engage in storytelling projects that amplify the voices of those affected by conflict.

Social Entrepreneurship: From Idea to Impact

At the heart of TEEEM’s model lies a commitment to social entrepreneurship. The organization provides students with the resources and mentorship needed to develop their own social impact ventures. “We encourage students to identify a problem, develop a solution, and then implement it,” says a program leader. “It's a hands-on learning experience that fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.”

TEEEM’s social entrepreneurship program allows students to submit proposals for school- and community-wide events, receiving grants to fund their initiatives.
