Report introduces an AI-ready document framework and a 10-question assessment for organizations moving beyond AI pilots

IRVINE, Calif., Oct 2, 2026 — KDAN (TPEx: 7737) today released Breaking Through the AI ROI Bottleneck: How Structured Documents Unlock the AI Value LLMs Alone Cannot Deliver. The white paper examines a practical obstacle to enterprise AI returns: information stored in PDFs, scanned files and contracts often cannot be reliably used by AI systems. It outlines a document infrastructure framework and a 10-question assessment to help organizations identify where to begin.

IBM reports that approximately 90% of enterprise-generated data is unstructured. The IBM Institute for Business Value’s 2025 CEO Study found that only 16% of AI initiatives have scaled across the enterprise. KDAN’s white paper draws on these findings to examine how information locked in enterprise documents can limit the returns from AI investments.

“What stalls enterprise AI is rarely the algorithm. It is the mountain of legacy PDFs and scanned images that remain largely invisible to AI models,” said Kenny Su, Founder & Chairman of KDAN.

Turning Enterprise Documents Into AI-Ready Data

The white paper proposes an intelligent document processing (IDP) layer between enterprise systems and AI applications. This layer extracts and organizes information from documents while preserving the context needed to interpret it, such as the relationships among tables, fields and text.

KDAN presents a three-stage framework spanning the document lifecycle: create and protect documents with LynxPDF; extract data and connect workflows with ComPDF; and manage eSignatures and audit trails with DottedSign. Together, these stages show how document preparation, integration and governance can support AI applications.

A 10-Question Data Readiness Self-Assessment for Enterprise AI

The white paper includes a 10-question Data Readiness Self-Assessment to help technology and business leaders identify gaps in data usability, scalability and risk management. It also recommends a 30-day inventory of high-value document workflows, a review of investment in data infrastructure, and early consideration of deployment and governance requirements when evaluating vendors.

“The core competitive advantage in the AI era will not belong to the organizations that purchased the most powerful models. It will belong to the organizations that built the most reliable data infrastructure to power them,” Su said.

The white paper and self-assessment are available on the KDAN website.
