Recent developments include the opening of new hospitals in Shrewsbury and Newberry in March 2026, with another facility planned for Carlisle, expanding its hospital count to 11. The system also officially integrated Evangelical Community Hospital in July 2024 and has partnered with Penn Highlands Healthcare. Demonstrating a commitment to technological advancement, WellSpan Health launched an AI-powered clinical GenAI healthcare agent in partnership with Hippocratic AI in March 2026.
