VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, commonly known as VTT, is a state-owned, non-profit limited liability company operating under the mandate of the Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. Headquartered in Otaniemi, Espoo, Finland, VTT serves as Finland's largest organization for applied research and its national metrology institute. Its core mission is to foster sustainable growth, employment, and well-being by integrating people, business, science, and technology to address global challenges and advance the utilization and commercialization of research and technology.

Kalle Härkki assumed the role of President & CEO of VTT on August 13, 2025. In June 2026, VTT launched a new strategy aimed at significantly increasing the commercialization of its research, with a goal to double both the number of startups originating from VTT and its commercial revenue by 2030. The organization is actively involved in major initiatives, such as leading the MatH2 consortium, which focuses on developing hydrogen-compatible materials to support Finland's burgeoning hydrogen economy. Recent projects also include advancements in trustworthy AI for industrial applications, enhancing resilience in energy systems, and accelerating the industrial adoption of quantum computing. VTT is recognized as one of Europe's leading research organizations and a significant recipient of EU research and development funding.
