Vertical Aerospace Ltd. is a UK-based aerospace manufacturer specializing in the development of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft for urban air mobility. Founded in 2016 by Stephen Fitzpatrick, the company's mission is to pioneer electric aviation, delivering zero-emission, high-speed electric aircraft to transform short-haul journeys and offer a safer, cleaner, and quieter way to travel. Its corporate headquarters are located in Bristol, United Kingdom.

The company's flagship product is the Valo eVTOL aircraft, which was previously known as the VX4. The Valo is designed as a piloted, four-passenger aircraft with zero operating emissions, capable of flying up to 100 miles at speeds of up to 150 mph. Vertical Aerospace is also developing a hybrid-electric variant to offer increased range and mission flexibility, catering to market segments including commercial, defense, logistics, emergency medical services, and cargo. The company collaborates with leading aerospace partners such as Honeywell, Syensqo, Aciturri, Rolls-Royce, Leonardo, and GKN, and has secured approximately 1,500 pre-orders for the Valo from customers including American Airlines, Avolon, Bristow, GOL, and Japan Airlines.

In April 2026, Vertical Aerospace achieved a significant milestone by completing a two-way piloted transition flight of its Valo eVTOL aircraft, moving from vertical take-off to wingborne cruise and back to vertical landing, under the oversight of the UK Civil Aviation Authority. This achievement is a crucial step towards its target of airliner-level safety certification in 2028. The company also secured a comprehensive financing package of up to $850 million to support its certification milestones through 2027 and beyond. Stuart Simpson serves as the CEO, with Dómhnal Slattery as Chairman, leading the company's efforts in advancing electric aviation.
