Utopai Studios
Utopai Studios is an American computer animation studio and generative artificial intelligence company, headquartered in Mountain View, California. Founded in 2022 as Cybever, the company rebranded to Utopai Studios in August 2025. Its core mission is to democratize cinematic storytelling, empowering creators to produce epic narratives by making studio-grade production accessible through advanced AI technology.
The company's primary product is PAI, a cinematic storytelling AI system designed for long-form video production. PAI functions as a generative artificial intelligence video model and workflow, capable of tracking narrative continuity, character consistency, and environmental stability across multi-shot sequences. It supports the creation of continuous videos up to three minutes long in 4K resolution, catering to professional film and television productions, independent filmmakers, and content creators. Utopai Studios also develops original intellectual property and co-produces films and TV series, integrating its proprietary AI infrastructure into the filmmaking process.
Recent notable developments include the launch of PAI 2.0 in June 2026, which further enhanced its 4K video generation capabilities and Story Agent for maintaining continuity. In May 2026, Utopai Studios secured a strategic investment from Carmelo Anthony's Creative 7, valuing the company at $1 billion. Earlier in February 2026, its joint venture, Utopai East, acquired Seoul-based production house Alquimista Media. The company also announced a co-production deal with Huace Film & TV Co., Ltd. in June 2026 for an AI-generated animated series. Utopai Studios is led by co-founders Cecilia Shen (CEO) and Jie Yang (CTO), with Marco Weber serving as a partner and co-CEO.
