TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) is Taiwan's foremost non-profit trade promotion organization, founded in 1970. Sponsored by the government and industry organizations, its core mission is to assist Taiwanese businesses in developing international markets, expanding their global reach, and enhancing their export capabilities. TAITRA also collaborates closely with the Taiwanese government in trade policy implementation and provides business consultation services to connect international firms with Taiwanese partners. Headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan, TAITRA operates a global network of offices and branches worldwide.

TAITRA's services encompass a wide range of trade promotion activities, including organizing trade missions, participating in major overseas trade shows, and hosting international exhibitions in Taiwan, such as COMPUTEX Taipei. COMPUTEX, co-organized with the Taipei Computer Association, is one of the world's largest computer and technology trade shows, focusing on themes like AI computing, advanced connectivity, future mobility, immersive reality, sustainability, and innovations. Additionally, TAITRA provides market research and information services, trade education, exhibition and convention services, and digital and e-commerce marketing to reinforce the international competitiveness of Taiwanese businesses.

Under the leadership of Chairman James C. F. Huang and President & CEO Simon Wang, TAITRA continues to play a pivotal role in Taiwan's global economic engagement. Recently, TAITRA has been active in strengthening Taiwan-U.S. tech strategic alliances, including establishing a "Taiwan Trade and Investment Center" in Phoenix, Arizona, to support Taiwanese enterprises expanding into the U.S. market, particularly in semiconductors and AI. The organization also emphasizes adapting to local business environments and promoting bilateral trade, such as with India, where semiconductors are a significant export. COMPUTEX, a flagship event, consistently highlights cutting-edge technologies, with recent editions focusing heavily on AI, attracting a record number of industry leaders and showcasing Taiwan's central position in the global AI and semiconductor supply chain.
