Select Water Solutions and ISE Chemicals have entered a definitive agreement to develop commercial-scale iodine extraction facilities using produced water from Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
The first facility is targeted for commissioning in 2027 within the Permian Basin, with a goal of producing ~3,000 tonnes per year of iodine by the end of 2030.
ISE Chemicals will fund, design, construct, own, and operate the facilities, while Select will provide produced water sourcing and infrastructure support in exchange for royalty payments.
