Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science (RFU) is a private, graduate-level health sciences university headquartered in North Chicago, Illinois. Established in 1912 as the Chicago Hospital-College of Medicine, its mission is to improve the wellness of all people through innovative, interprofessional education of health and biomedical professionals and the discovery and implementation of knowledge. The university is named in honor of Rosalind Franklin, whose work was central to understanding the molecular structures of DNA.

RFU comprises six colleges: the Chicago Medical School, College of Health Professions, College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, and the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies. The university offers over 30 graduate programs, including Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), and various Master's and PhD programs in health-related fields. A key focus is interprofessional education, preparing students for team-based healthcare delivery, alongside conducting biomedical research in areas such as neurosciences, genetic diseases, cancer cell biology, and Alzheimer's disease. RFU also operates health clinics and an innovation and research park, which includes the Helix 51 bioscience incubator.

Aron Sousa, MD, was appointed President and CEO of Rosalind Franklin University, effective November 10, 2025. The university continues to expand its research and educational initiatives, including the recent expansion of its Helix 51 biomedical incubator in March 2026. RFU researchers were also recognized among "Illinois Researchers to Know" in June 2024, underscoring its commitment to scientific discovery and innovation in the health sciences.
