Under the leadership of the Minister of Government Transformation, Public Services and Procurement, Joël Lightbound, as of May 13, 2025, PSPC is actively engaged in modernizing procurement practices to align with Canada's economic policy goals, emphasizing ethical and sustainable supply chains, and increasing opportunities for diverse suppliers. Ongoing efforts include addressing challenges related to the Phoenix Pay System and transforming defence procurement through initiatives like the Defence Investment Agency.
