Ontario International Airport (ONT) is a public international airport located in San Bernardino County, California, approximately 38 miles east of downtown Los Angeles. It is owned and operated by the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA), a joint-powers agreement between the City of Ontario and San Bernardino County. The airport's mission is "to boldly seize every opportunity to connect the Inland Empire to the world." Its administration offices are located at 1923 E. Avion Street, Ontario, California.
ONT serves as a vital transportation hub offering both passenger and cargo air services. It provides nonstop flights to over 30 major destinations across the U.S., Mexico, Central America, and Taiwan. Beyond passenger travel, Ontario International Airport is a significant air cargo center, functioning as the West Coast air and truck hub for UPS Airlines and a major distribution point for FedEx Express, positioning it among the top ten cargo airports in the nation. The airport is recognized for its customer-centric approach, offering various amenities and services designed to enhance the traveler experience.
Under the leadership of CEO Atif Elkadi, Ontario International Airport has demonstrated robust growth and market positioning. It has been recognized as the fastest-growing airport in the U.S. for four consecutive years. Recent reports indicate continued expansion, with passenger traffic increasing for the fourth consecutive month in March 2026, showing a 2.7% rise compared to the previous year, and commercial air freight shipments growing by over 15%. International travel, in particular, has seen a significant surge, with a 55.2% increase in March 2026. The airport's international terminal was named the Dianne Feinstein International Terminal in 2022 in recognition of her efforts in returning ownership to local authority. In 2025, ONT ranked second in J.D. Power's North America Airport Satisfaction Study.
