Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is a private, not-for-profit research university headquartered with its main campus in Fort Lauderdale and Davie, Florida. The university has also been recognized with the Carnegie Community Engagement Classification and designated as an Opportunity College and University. NSU is positioned to become Florida's top private research university, a global leader in healthcare and innovation, and a champion for the ocean economy, contributing nearly $7 billion annually to Florida's economy. Recent news includes the university's withdrawal of a proposed dorm project in Davie in April 2026 due to community concerns and an $8.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Defense for Gulf War Illness research.
