Northwell Health is a nonprofit integrated healthcare network and the largest healthcare provider and private employer in New York State. John D'Angelo, MD, assumed the role of President and CEO on October 1, 2025, succeeding Michael J. Dowling. In May 2025, Northwell Health completed a merger with Nuvance Health, marking its first expansion beyond New York into Connecticut and the Hudson Valley. More recently, in May 2026, Northwell received $6.6 million in state funding to expand its inpatient psychiatric capacity on Long Island and in Queens. Additionally, in April 2026, the health system opened a new $3 million primary and specialty care hub in Chappaqua Crossing, Westchester, and was the first in New York to deploy Abbott's TBI test for rapid brain injury evaluation.
