Inventiva S.A. is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing oral small molecule therapies for diseases with significant unmet medical needs. Headquartered at 50 Rue de Dijon, 21121 Daix, France, the company's mission is to develop differentiated treatments for Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis (MASH) and other conditions, aiming to restore metabolic balance and target inflammation and fibrosis.

The company's primary product candidate is lanifibranor, a novel pan-PPAR (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor) agonist. Lanifibranor is currently undergoing a pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial (NATiV3) for the treatment of MASH, also known as non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a growing health crisis. Inventiva also has other therapeutic programs in its pipeline, including Odiparcil for mucopolysaccharidoses and a pre-clinical program (TGF-ß) for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, alongside earlier-stage research in oncology and lysosomal storage disorders.

Andrew Obenshain serves as the Chief Executive Officer, having taken over from co-founder Frédéric Cren in 2025. Inventiva has recently strengthened its leadership team in anticipation of the top-line data readout from the NATiV3 Phase 3 trial for lanifibranor, expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company announced the repayment of European Investment Bank (EIB) loans and the issuance of new debt financing in June 2026, and also secured funding from BlackRock, Inc. and Claret Capital Partners Limited in the same month. Lanifibranor has received FDA Breakthrough Therapy Designation, underscoring its potential in addressing MASH.
