Global Ship Lease, Inc. is an independent owner of containerships, primarily engaged in leasing vessels under fixed-rate time charters to global container shipping companies. The company's mission is to provide its liner operator customers with well-specified, operationally flexible, reliable, fuel-efficient, high-reefer capacity, and low slot cost containerships. Incorporated in the Marshall Islands, Global Ship Lease maintains its administrative office in Athens, Greece.

The company recently announced additional newbuilding orders for five mid-size, ultra-high-reefer, wide-beam, latest-generation containerships, valued at approximately $413 million, with deliveries expected by 2029. This expands its newbuilding program to 15 vessels, aimed at refreshing its fleet and extending its cash generation profile. George Youroukos serves as the executive chairman.
