The Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh (FHLBank Pittsburgh) is a member-owned cooperative established by Congress in 1932 as part of the Federal Home Loan Bank System. Its core mission is to assure the flow of credit to its member financial institutions, which include commercial banks, insurance companies, credit unions, and community development financial institutions across Delaware, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. By acting as an intermediary between global capital markets and local lenders, FHLBank Pittsburgh provides readily available liquidity to support housing finance and community lending, thereby enhancing its members' businesses and vitalizing their communities. The institution's headquarters are located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, having relocated to One Oxford Centre on October 15, 2024.

FHLBank Pittsburgh offers a diverse range of products and services designed to meet the financial and community development needs of its members. Key offerings include flexible advances, standby letters of credit, and the Mortgage Partnership Finance (MPF) Program. Beyond traditional banking services, the institution is deeply involved in community investment through programs such as the Affordable Housing Program (AHP), which provides grants and loans for affordable housing projects, and the First Front Door (FFD) program for first-time homebuyers. It also supports small businesses through Banking On Business (BOB) and community revitalization efforts via the Blueprint Communities® initiative.

In recent leadership changes, David G. Paulson assumed the role of President and CEO on October 1, 2024, succeeding Winthrop Watson. Demonstrating its commitment to community development, FHLBank Pittsburgh approved $90.2 million in housing-related funding for 2025. This allocation includes $61.3 million through its Affordable Housing Program and an additional $28.9 million via its voluntary housing grant initiative, projected to support 75 housing projects and create or preserve 1,823 homes for low- and moderate-income individuals and families. As one of the eleven Federal Home Loan Banks, FHLBank Pittsburgh remains an integral and reliable component of the U.S. financial system, consistently providing funding and resources to its member institutions.
