Epsilyte Holdings LLC
Epsilyte is a North American leader in the production of expandable polystyrene (EPS) materials, headquartered in The Woodlands, Texas. The company's core business revolves around manufacturing engineered EPS resin, with a mission to deliver efficient, high-R-value EPS products. A significant focus is placed on sustainability and innovation in recycling, aiming to improve society through responsible and sustainable insulative products.
Epsilyte offers a diverse portfolio of high-performance EPS materials, including regular-grade, modified-grade, cup bead, recycled-content EPS (such as 124LR with 50% post-consumer recycled content), biodegradable EPS (EVRgreen®), colored EPS, and graphite EPS. These materials serve critical applications across various market segments, including construction and infrastructure for insulation, protective packaging, foodservice (cups, containers, clamshells), molded consumer goods, metal casting, medical thermal and cold chain solutions, and personal safety equipment like helmets. The company also provides technical support and engineering services to its customers.
Founded in November 2020 through the acquisition of Flint Hills Resources' EPS business, Epsilyte has rapidly expanded its capabilities. Key acquisitions include Polysource Inc. in May 2021, which enhanced its compounded EPS and extrusion technology, and StyroChem Canada, Ltd. in October 2021, which strengthened its biodegradable EPS offerings and expanded its presence in foodservice and packaging, establishing it as one of North America's largest EPS manufacturers. Led by CEO Brad Crocker, the company continues to emphasize sustainability, evidenced by the launch of products with significant recycled content and ongoing efforts in recycling innovation. Epsilyte operates three production sites across Illinois, Ohio, and Quebec, serving customers in over 30 countries.
