Energy Transfer LP
Energy Transfer LP is a prominent American energy company engaged in the pipeline transportation, storage, and terminaling of various energy products. Organized as a publicly traded limited partnership under Delaware state laws, the company is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1996 by Ray Davis and Kelcy Warren, Energy Transfer has grown to become one of the largest and most diversified midstream companies in the United States, with a mission focused on safely delivering America's energy.
The company's core operations encompass a comprehensive suite of midstream services, including natural gas midstream and transportation, crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and refined products transportation and storage. Energy Transfer also provides NGL storage and fractionation, as well as LNG regasification and terminalling services. Its extensive network spans approximately 140,000 miles of pipelines and associated infrastructure across 44 states, touching all major U.S. production basins. Energy Transfer holds controlling interests in Sunoco LP and significant interests in USA Compression Partners L.P., and wholly owns Lake Charles LNG.
Under the leadership of Executive Chairman Kelcy Warren and co-CEOs Thomas E. Long and Marshall S. McCrea III, Energy Transfer continues to expand its footprint and capabilities. Recent notable developments include the acquisition of Crestwood Equity Partners in early 2025, further enhancing its midstream operations, and the announcement of the Desert Southwest Pipeline project, slated for operation in 2029. The company reported strong Q2 2026 results, exceeding revenue and EPS estimates, and subsequently raised its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA guidance. Energy Transfer has also consistently increased its quarterly cash distribution, marking its nineteenth consecutive increase in July 2026, and is strategically positioned to benefit from the growing demand for natural gas driven by AI data centers.
