Desert Financial Credit Union

Desert Financial Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 1939 by 15 Arizona educators, its core business is providing a range of financial services to its members. The credit union's mission centers on sharing success and creating exceptional experiences, aiming to give back to its members and the broader community.

The credit union offers a comprehensive suite of financial products and services, including savings and checking accounts, certificates, IRAs, mortgage and home equity loans, auto and personal loans, business loans, and various credit card options. It also provides digital banking solutions, investment services, and financial planning. Desert Financial serves individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in Arizona, as well as immediate family members of current members and its own employees. It is recognized as the largest local credit union in Arizona.

As of 2026, Desert Financial Credit Union manages nearly $9 billion in assets and serves over 500,000 members across more than 50 branches throughout Arizona. Jeff Meshey has served as President and CEO since 2017. In 2026, the credit union returned $16 million to its members through its Member Giveback Bonus program, contributing to a total of $122 million over nine years. Recent initiatives include a $520,000 commitment in grants to Arizona nonprofits over a two-year cycle, with $260,000 awarded in 2026, and a partnership with Alacriti to unify payment operations, integrating services like FedNow® and RTP® networks. Desert Financial is also the official banking partner for the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona State University, and NAU Athletics.
