China National Publications Import and Export (Group) Co., Ltd. (CNPIEC) is a state-owned cultural enterprise established in 1949 and headquartered in Beijing, China. As a key entity under the China Publishing Group, CNPIEC's core mission involves facilitating cultural exchange by introducing advanced foreign technological and cultural achievements to China, while simultaneously promoting Chinese culture globally. The company serves as a crucial bridge in the international publishing industry, driving the globalization of Chinese publications.

CNPIEC's extensive operations encompass the import and export of a wide array of publications, including books, periodicals, audio-visual materials, and electronic publications, handling over 700,000 titles annually for more than 10,000 institutions across 170 countries. The company provides digital resource services, international exhibition services, and print-on-demand solutions. Notably, CNPIEC holds exclusive rights for the import of audio and video products and the retail of foreign newspapers and magazines, and operates China's sole publications-exclusive bonded warehouse. It has also developed the CNPeReading digital platform.

As China's primary institution for the import and export of publications, CNPIEC accounts for a significant portion of the nation's book trade, handling 62% of imports and 30% of exports. The company actively participates in major international events, such as the 2026 Bologna Children's Book Fair, where it showcased Chinese children's literature. In early 2024, it organized the 14th Spring Festival Book Exposition, and in September 2025, it announced a collaboration with DOAJ to support open access journals in China. CNPIEC is currently undergoing a digital transformation, shifting its focus from content services to data operations and pursuing global redeployment strategies.
