China International Publishing Group (Beijing Review)
Beijing Review is China's national English weekly news magazine, established in March 1958 under the guidance of then Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai. Headquartered in Beijing, its core mission is to present China to the world by providing timely, accurate, and first-hand information on the country's economic, political, and cultural developments, as well as its international relations. The publication serves as a key channel for communicating the perspectives and news concerning the Communist Party of China to an international audience.
The magazine offers a range of products and services, including its weekly print and digital editions. Online, Beijing Review publishes content in multiple languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, and Japanese. It provides in-depth analysis of major regional and international events, alongside consulting and information services, and features special coverage of breaking news, audio, and video content. The publication reaches readers in over 150 countries and regions globally.
Published by the state-run China International Publishing Group (CIPG), which is owned by the Communist Party of China, Beijing Review is considered a mouthpiece of the Chinese government. In October 2020, the U.S. Department of State designated Beijing Review as a "foreign mission" of China. Recent content includes analyses of President Xi Jinping's speeches, offering insights into China's evolving political and economic strategies, and its global vision.
