Cellares is an Integrated Development and Manufacturing Organization (IDMO) that applies an Industry 4.0 approach to the mass manufacturing of cell therapies. The company's mission is to accelerate access to life-saving cell therapies globally by industrializing their production. Cellares is headquartered in South San Francisco, California, USA.

Cellares' core offerings include its proprietary Cell Shuttle™ and Cell Q™ platforms. The Cell Shuttle is an automated, end-to-end cGMP platform designed for industrial-scale cell therapy manufacturing, while Cell Q™ provides automated, high-throughput quality control for these therapies. These technologies are central to their IDMO services, which encompass process translation and automation, analytical bridging and automation, and global quality and regulatory consultation, supporting both clinical and commercial manufacturing.

Cellares recently expanded its Series D financing to $327 million with an investment from Prime Radiant Partners in June 2026, building on an earlier $257 million round co-led by BlackRock and Eclipse in January 2026, bringing total capital raised to over $600 million. The company has secured significant partnerships, including a capacity reservation and supply agreement with Bristol Myers Squibb valued at up to $380 million, and collaborations with Cabaletta Bio and TScan Therapeutics. Led by Co-Founder and CEO Fabian Gerlinghaus, Cellares is privately held but anticipates an initial public offering (IPO) as early as the fourth quarter of 2027, as it continues to expand its global Smart Factory network.
