Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD)

The Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) is a non-profit organization serving as the unified voice for the home building, residential and non-residential land development, and professional renovation industries within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, BILD's mission is to be a proactive industry advocate, a key resource for government and stakeholders on industry issues, and a platform for fostering learning and business relationships among its members.

BILD's services encompass advocacy, policy shaping, and providing vital industry knowledge and market intelligence to its diverse membership. This includes home builders, land developers, professional RenoMark renovators, financial and professional service companies, trade contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers of home-oriented products. The association also facilitates networking through various events, workshops, and webinars. Its members collectively represent over 90 percent of the residential low and high-rise development activity in the GTA.

Led by President and CEO Dave Wilkes, BILD actively monitors and reports on the GTA's housing market, frequently highlighting challenges such as historically low new home sales observed in early 2025. The association advocates for government intervention to address the housing crisis, reduce construction costs, and streamline development charges. In January 2025, BILD launched its "Trusted Builder Program" to recognize long-standing members who have demonstrated commitment and ethical conduct in the industry. The organization also hosts the annual BILD Awards, celebrating excellence in design, construction, marketing, and sales within the region.
