Arianne Phosphate Inc.
Arianne Phosphate Inc. is a Canadian development-stage phosphate mining company headquartered in Chicoutimi, Quebec. Founded in 1997 as Arianne Resources Inc., the company's core business is the advancement of its flagship Lac à Paul phosphate project, located approximately 200 kilometers north of the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. Its mission is to produce high-quality apatite (phosphate) through an environmentally friendly mining operation, striving for greenhouse gas (GHG) neutrality by utilizing renewable hydroelectricity.
The company's primary product will be a high-purity igneous apatite concentrate, targeting approximately 39% P2O5 with minimal contaminants. This concentrate is intended for various market segments, including the production of fertilizers, and increasingly, for advanced applications such as lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, as well as in food, feed, preservatives, water treatment, and cosmetics. The Lac à Paul project is envisioned to produce 3 million tons of phosphate concentrate annually, positioning it as a significant global source.
Under the leadership of CEO Jeffrey Beck, appointed in May 2021, Arianne Phosphate is actively progressing its projects. Recent developments include promising results from purified phosphoric acid (PPA) production tests and an option agreement for a PPA demonstration plant in partnership with Travertine Technologies, announced in April 2026. The company also secured an extension of its credit facilities in April 2026. Phosphate's strategic importance, particularly for LFP batteries, was recognized in 2024 when both the Canadian and Quebec governments added it to their critical mineral lists. Arianne Phosphate is advancing a proposed downstream phosphoric acid project, aiming to become a key independent supplier of phosphate rock from a low-risk jurisdiction.
