AARP (AARP New York)

AARP New York is the state office of AARP, a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to empowering individuals aged 50 and older to choose how they live as they age. Its core mission involves championing social change and delivering value through advocacy, information, and service. While the national AARP is headquartered in Washington, D.C., AARP New York maintains offices in key locations including New York City, Albany, and Rochester, serving the specific needs of New Yorkers.

The organization provides a range of services and resources tailored to its market segment of older adults and their families. These include advocacy for better healthcare, financial security, and caregiving support within New York State. Furthermore, AARP New York is engaged in significant fraud prevention efforts, including “The Big Shred NY!” events, to combat the rising tide of scams targeting older adults in the state.
