Students Lead the Charge Against Educational Inequality with New National Honors Society

NEW YORK, NY – November 12, 2025 – A new national initiative is putting educational equity in the hands of high school students. The newly launched National Honors Society for Tutoring (NTHS), powered by the non-profit organization UPchieve, is empowering students across the country to provide free, 24/7 online tutoring and mentorship to their peers, addressing growing educational disparities and building the next generation of leaders.

UPchieve, which already provides free online tutoring to low-income students, has formalized the peer-to-peer model with the creation of NTHS. The program recognizes high-achieving students who dedicate their time to supporting others, offering them leadership experience, national tutor certification, and valuable volunteer service hours. More than 50 chapters have already launched in states ranging from Tennessee to New York to Texas, according to UPchieve.
