Samsung and Lark Health Launch AI-Powered Coach for U.S. Seniors

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – July 15, 2026 – In a landmark move set to reshape senior healthcare, Samsung Electronics and Lark Health today announced a multi-year strategic partnership to bring an AI-powered health coach to millions of U.S. seniors. The collaboration will embed Lark’s clinically validated chronic disease management and prevention programs directly into the Samsung Health platform, making continuous, personalized care accessible at no out-of-pocket cost to a vast population of older adults.

Beginning in the third quarter of 2026, seniors using Samsung's ecosystem of Galaxy devices will gain access to one or more of Lark’s 12 award-winning programs. These services are designed to help manage and prevent prevalent conditions such as prediabetes, diabetes, hypertension, and stress. For the nearly half of all seniors (65+) who are eligible Medicare beneficiaries, the offering is even more comprehensive, including live clinical interventions and cellular-connected health tracking devices like smart scales and blood pressure cuffs, all provided at no additional cost.

A New Era of Proactive, Home-Based Care

This partnership marks a significant shift away from traditional, reactive healthcare toward a model of continuous, proactive support. By leveraging Samsung's massive hardware footprint of over 400 million devices, including the popular Galaxy Watch and the new Galaxy Ring, the initiative aims to create an always-on, home-based health ecosystem.

"The true promise of digital health cannot be measured by innovation for innovation’s sake; it must be measured by how it truly helps people (and at scale)," stated Dr. Hon Pak, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team at Samsung Electronics. "Our Connected Care Everywhere initiative represents a dramatic shift in how care must move away from fragmented, episodic care and toward a ubiquitous, always-on home-based health ecosystem. By embedding Lark’s AI-powered health coaching within Samsung Health, we’re giving seniors everywhere direct access to clinically validated programs on the Galaxy devices they already own and use every day.”

The integration means a senior can receive 24/7 AI-powered coaching on nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management directly through their phone or wearable. The system can prompt users to check their blood pressure, offer meal suggestions based on recent glucose readings, or provide mindfulness exercises during a stressful moment, creating a constant feedback loop that empowers individuals to take control of their health in real-time.

The Policy Engine: How Medicare ACCESS Fuels Innovation

The ability to offer these sophisticated services at no cost to seniors is not just a feat of technology, but a strategic utilization of new federal healthcare policy. The partnership is built upon advanced Medicare initiatives, particularly the Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP) and the highly anticipated Medicare Advancing Chronic Care with Effective, Scalable Solutions (ACCESS) model.

Launched in July 2026, the ACCESS model is a groundbreaking 10-year initiative by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) designed to expand technology-supported care for chronic conditions. It fundamentally alters reimbursement by moving from a fee-for-service system to an outcome-aligned payment (OAP) structure. Under ACCESS, organizations like Lark’s affiliated medical group are paid for achieving measurable health improvements, such as better blood pressure or A1C control, rather than for the volume of services rendered. This creates a sustainable business model for digital health solutions that can demonstrate clinical effectiveness.

Crucially, the ACCESS model allows Medicare beneficiaries to enroll directly into programs, a significant departure from previous models that required provider-led enrollment. This empowers seniors to seek out and adopt these digital tools independently. The model also permits participating organizations to waive patient copayments and provide necessary technology, such as connected devices, as enrollment incentives, which is precisely how this partnership can deliver on its "no out-of-pocket cost" promise.

Clinically Validated AI at Unprecedented Scale

At the heart of the partnership is Lark Health's sophisticated AI platform. Developed over a decade with $180 million in R&D, Lark is not just a simple app but a clinically validated health assistant built on behavioral-change science. Its efficacy is supported by outcomes published in more than 22 peer-reviewed studies and protected by 10 AI and generative AI patents. This clinical rigor is essential for gaining trust from both users and the medical community.

Depending on their eligibility and needs, seniors will have access to a tiered system of programs:

  • Lark Prevention: Available to all U.S. Samsung Health users aged 65 and older, this wellness program provides 24/7 AI coaching across stress, sleep, nutrition, exercise, and tobacco cessation. It serves as a foundational layer of support for all seniors, valued at $249 per year.

  • Lark Medicare Diabetes Prevention: Qualifying seniors at risk for type 2 diabetes can enroll in Lark's CDC-recognized Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP). This includes a connected smart scale and personalized coaching at no cost to the member, a service valued at $399 per year.

  • Lark Medicare ACCESS: For seniors with eligible cardiometabolic and behavioral health conditions, Lark’s affiliated medical group will deliver a program under the new ACCESS model. This premium tier pairs AI coaching with clinical oversight from Lark Medical Group providers and includes applicable connected devices like blood pressure cuffs and glucometers. Care coordination is shared electronically with the member’s primary care clinician, creating a truly integrated care experience valued at over $900 per year.

"Seniors face some of the steepest barriers to continuous care, and this partnership directly addresses that reality,” said Julia Hu, CEO and cofounder of Lark Health. "By bringing Lark’s AI-powered 24/7 preventative and chronic care coaching and connected devices to Samsung’s incredible ecosystem and bridging that with innovative Medicare ACCESS reimbursement, we’re making it possible together for every senior to access the kind of always-on health support that can genuinely change outcomes at no additional cost to them.”

The rollout of Lark’s offerings through Samsung Health is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with further expansion in early 2027. Users will be able to verify eligibility and enroll directly through the Samsung Health platform, streamlining access to a new generation of digital healthcare.
