A new alliance brings rugged, flexible payment hardware to software vendors, aiming to streamline integration and capture the booming unattended market.
Payroc and ID TECH Expand Partnership to Accelerate ISV Payment Solutions
TINLEY PARK, Ill. – January 12, 2026 – Global payment acquirer Payroc has announced a significant expansion of its partnership with hardware manufacturer ID TECH, a move set to provide independent software vendors (ISVs) with a broader and more flexible arsenal of payment devices. Building on their existing collaboration, the alliance now includes certifications for new devices from the ID TECH NEO 3 family, specifically targeting the rapidly growing mobile, unattended, and enterprise payment sectors.
This strategic enhancement introduces the rugged Kiosk V and the advanced, Android-based AP6800 terminal to Payroc’s certified hardware lineup, joining the previously successful VP3350. The initiative is designed to simplify the complex process of payment integration, reduce certification timelines, and empower ISVs to deploy sophisticated payment solutions across a diverse range of commercial environments, from outdoor self-service kiosks to high-traffic retail settings.
Empowering Software Vendors with Speed and Choice
For ISVs, the primary challenge often lies not in software innovation, but in the cumbersome and time-consuming process of integrating and certifying payment hardware. The partnership between Payroc and ID TECH directly addresses this bottleneck through the Payroc Cloud platform, a modern integration environment that promises to reduce hardware integration timelines from weeks to days.
“ISVs need device options that match the way their software is used in the real world,” said Conn Byrne, Executive Director of Integrated Payments at Payroc, in a statement. “By expanding our certified NEO 3 lineup with ID TECH and extending support through Payroc Cloud, we’re giving partners more flexibility across mobile, kiosk, and enterprise use cases—helping them launch faster, scale smarter, and deliver a better experience to their customers.”
Payroc Cloud enables ISVs to remotely deploy, update, and manage devices, minimizing the need for on-site technical support and logistical complexities. A key technological advantage is the use of a “common kernel” within ID TECH’s NEO 3 platform. This standardized software core for EMV processing means that once one device in the family is certified, integrating others like the Kiosk V and AP6800 becomes substantially faster and less complex. This approach abstracts away much of the underlying EMV certification hurdles, allowing developers to focus on their core software applications rather than navigating the intricate web of payment scheme approvals.
Hardware for the Unattended Revolution
The expansion comes as consumer behavior increasingly shifts towards self-service and contactless interactions. The global unattended payments market, valued at over $40 billion in 2021, is projected to exceed $100 billion by 2025, driven by demand in sectors like public transportation, EV charging, smart parking, and automated retail. The new devices are purpose-built to capture this opportunity.
The Kiosk V is a compact, highly durable device engineered for outdoor, unattended environments. Its IP65 rating signifies protection against dust and water ingress, while an IK08 impact rating ensures it can withstand physical stress, making it ideal for payment kiosks, parking garages, and drive-thrus. Crucially, it supports the latest PCI PTS 6.x security standards, ensuring that sensitive card data is encrypted at the point of interaction.
Meanwhile, the forthcoming AP6800 represents a leap forward for high-demand environments. This all-in-one smart terminal runs on a modern Android operating system and features a 5-inch touchscreen with PIN-on-glass technology, which allows for secure PIN entry directly on the screen, eliminating the need for a separate physical PIN pad. Its ability to drive an external display at up to 4K resolution makes it a powerful tool for enterprise-level self-service applications that require rich media and a dynamic user interface. Like the Kiosk V, it boasts IP65/IK08 durability ratings, making it suitable for challenging unattended verticals.
“We are excited to continue our partnership with Payroc and deliver innovative NEO 3 hardware that empowers ISVs and merchants alike,” commented Justin Ning, VP of Sales at ID TECH. “With the VP3350 and Kiosk V available today and certification of the AP6800 coming soon, ISVs will have a powerful mix of devices to meet diverse market demands.”
The Security and Strategy Behind the Partnership
Underpinning this hardware expansion is a robust security framework essential for modern commerce. The certification of these devices under PCI PTS 6.x provides a critical layer of defense against fraud and data breaches. This standard mandates advanced encryption, sophisticated authentication methods, and physical tamper resistance, giving merchants and their customers confidence that transactions are secure. For businesses, adopting terminals compliant with this latest standard is not just a best practice; it is a strategic decision that reduces liability and future-proofs their payment infrastructure against evolving threats.
This alliance is a calculated move for both companies. For Payroc, which processes over $125 billion in card volume annually, it deepens its value proposition for the lucrative ISV channel. By offering a pre-certified, diverse, and easily integrable hardware portfolio, the company strengthens its position as a full-stack payments ecosystem. It allows Payroc to aggressively pursue a larger share of the high-growth unattended and specialized payments markets, extending its reach beyond traditional retail.
For ID TECH, the partnership ensures its advanced hardware is seamlessly supported by a major global acquirer’s cloud platform, increasing its attractiveness to a vast network of software developers. By combining Payroc’s integrated payments technology with ID TECH’s specialized hardware, ISVs gain a powerful, streamlined path to market, enabling them to serve a wider array of merchants across industries with greater speed and less friction.
