Experts would likely view this initiative as a bold attempt to redefine education for an AI-driven future, though its long-term success will depend on scalability and financial sustainability.
Genius Group Launches 'Future School' in Bali for a Post-Singularity World
SINGAPORE – January 20, 2026 – Genius Group Limited, an AI-powered education company, today announced the launch of Genius School in Bali, Indonesia, a new educational venture described as a “Model Future School” designed to prepare students for a world irrevocably altered by artificial intelligence—a “post-singularity” future.
The initiative transforms the existing ProEd Global School into a campus teaching the self-proclaimed “ABCs of the future.” This move follows Genius Group’s acquisition of a 51% majority stake in ProEd Global in November 2025. The company aims to establish a new educational paradigm, integrating advanced technology and entrepreneurial principles directly into primary, middle, and secondary education.
Leading the charge is CEO Roger James Hamilton, whose previous role as Founding Chairman of Green School Bali saw that institution rise to global prominence, cited by the World Economic Forum (WEF) as a leading example in its 2020 white paper, ‘Schools of the Future’. Now, Hamilton is leveraging that experience to build what he hopes will be the next evolution in education.
“In the current world of AI and exponential technologies that disrupt the future world of work, there has never been a more important time to re-imagine education for our children,” Hamilton stated in the announcement. He believes the combination of AI-powered curriculum and apprenticeship programs offers a unique opportunity to create a world-leading future school.
A Curriculum for the AI Age
At the heart of Genius School’s philosophy is a curriculum built on three core principles: “Ignite Your Genius,” “The Future ABCs,” and “Your Life’s Work.” The model moves away from standardized testing and rote memorization, focusing instead on personalized, purpose-driven learning journeys.
The school’s framework is explicitly based on the eight “Future Skills” identified in the WEF’s ‘Schools of the Future’ report. These skills include global citizenship, innovation and creativity, technology skills, and interpersonal emotional intelligence. The curriculum aims to foster these competencies through a project-based, collaborative learning environment that mirrors modern workplaces.
Central to this vision are the “Future ABCs”: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain (Web3), and Community. Students will not only learn about these technologies but will use them as foundational tools. The curriculum integrates AI-enhanced toolkits for self-awareness and self-mastery, while blockchain principles are taught as the bedrock of a future digital economy. This emphasis on community aims to ground the high-tech focus in human connection and collaboration.
The goal, according to the school's philosophy, is not for students to merely “get a job,” but for them to discover and create their “life’s work.” This is supported by the Genius Apprentice Program, which connects students with entrepreneurial enterprises to gain real-world experience and discover what they find most meaningful.
The Business of Future-Proofing Education
Genius Group’s strategy extends beyond pedagogy into a distinct business model. The company, which identifies as a “Bitcoin-first” education group, has been actively integrating cryptocurrency into its operations. It has expanded its Bitcoin treasury, reported profits from crypto transactions, and acquired platforms like XD Academy to bolster its blockchain curriculum. The vision for its “Genius City” model, being developed in Bali’s Nuanu Creative City, is to create the first Bitcoin-based, tokenized community in Asia.
The acquisition of a 51% stake in ProEd Global School, part of a combined $14 million valuation with the Genius City project, is a cornerstone of this strategy. Genius Group projects that the Bali school will be profitable “from day one,” forecasting that the combined projects will generate over $20 million in annual revenue and $6 million in annual profit within four years. These are ambitious targets for the NYSE-listed company, which currently operates as a micro-cap entity with a valuation of approximately $50 million and has faced recent financial challenges, including negative margins.
Despite this, the company is betting on a growing market demand for educational alternatives that address the perceived shortcomings of traditional systems in an age of rapid technological disruption. With a user base of over 6 million across 100 countries on its GeniusU platform, the company has a significant audience for its educational products.
From Bali to the World: A Scalable Model
The implementation of the Genius School model is now underway at ProEd’s two Bali campuses in Umalas and Nuanu. According to Angie Stead, General Manager of Genius School, the launch is already generating significant attention. “We are already attracting strong interest and new enrolments to our school, and we look forward to growing our Future School model to other locations around the world,” she said.
This Bali initiative serves as the blueprint for a much larger global ambition. Genius Group plans to scale this model, with a stated goal of establishing 100 “Genius Cities” by 2030. These cities are envisioned as lifelong learning hubs built around schools, camps, and business accelerators, creating an ecosystem that supports the company’s educational philosophy from childhood through adulthood.
For parents and students considering the school, the pathway to higher education is a critical factor. Genius School currently offers international certification through Cambridge Accreditation, providing graduates with a credential recognized by universities worldwide. The company has also announced plans to secure International Baccalaureate (IB) Accreditation, although this is a future goal and not yet in place. Upon graduation, students are presented with multiple pathways: attending partner universities, joining partner companies for apprenticeships, or launching their own ventures with potential support from the school’s ecosystem.
