While Nokia provides the connectivity backbone, Swedish defense firm Saab AB will supply the advanced patrol vehicle solution based on the SISU GTP platform, Marine Alutech Oy Ab will deliver counter-drone capable patrol boats, and 61N Solutions Oy will handle the crucial task of integrating the vast streams of data into the authorities' command systems.
Nokia's solution leverages its private LTE and 5G technologies, specifically hardened for mission-critical defense applications. These private networks offer the high-bandwidth, low-latency communication essential for transmitting vast amounts of data—including high-definition video and sensor readings—in real-time. The success of these trials will inform decisions on potential series procurements and the full-scale nationwide rollout.
