A landmark $40 million donation from Arnie and Lauren Bellini recently established the USF Bellini College of Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Computing—the first named college in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to this critical intersection of technologies. The college's mission is not only to conduct cutting-edge research but also to directly address the nation's severe cybersecurity workforce shortage, creating a sustainable talent pipeline for the region and beyond.

Tampa-based cybersecurity firm A-LIGN joined the coveted "billion-dollar club" in 2025 after a major private equity infusion. More recently, CyberFOX, another local cybersecurity company, secured a nine-figure growth investment to fuel acquisitions and expand its AI development team. Meanwhile, startups like Guardare, an AI-powered risk and compliance firm, are emerging from local accelerators like Tampa Bay Wave with multi-million dollar seed rounds, proving the ecosystem can nurture new ventures from the ground up.

Jen Easterly, who recently transitioned from her role as Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to become CEO of the influential RSAC conference, will bring her formidable perspective on national resilience. During her tenure at CISA, Easterly was a tireless advocate for "secure by design" principles, challenging technology manufacturers to take greater responsibility for product security rather than placing the burden on consumers and small businesses.

Joining her is Rachel Wilson, Chief Data Officer at Morgan Stanley and a 15-year veteran of the National Security Agency (NSA). Cultivating the Next Generation of Cyber Defenders
