Coppernico Metals Inc. has unveiled significant exploration advancements at its Tipicancha copper-gold target in southern Peru, revealing a mineralized system of a scale that has the mining industry taking notice. Recent geological mapping and sampling have defined a hydrothermal alteration footprint now stretching over four kilometers, bolstering the theory that a large, high-value porphyry copper-gold deposit may lie at depth. The findings set the stage for a highly anticipated initial drill program in the coming months.

The Tipicancha target is a key part of Coppernico's larger Sombrero Project, situated on the northwestern edge of the world-renowned Andahuaylas-Yauri trend. Geological mapping has outlined a vast โ€œlithocapโ€โ€”a cap of intensely altered rock that often forms above valuable mineral deposits. Within this lithocap, geologists have identified a laterally extensive pyrite-rich horizon, a key indicator of a robust mineralizing system.

These independent observations are converging on a clear set of geological vectors that will guide our initial drill targeting at Tipicancha.โ€

While the near-surface copper is promising, the ultimate prize Coppernico is hunting for is a large-scale porphyry deposit at depth.
