COPENHAGEN, Denmark – February 09, 2026 – Nexra, the dedicated service arm of offshore wind leader Cadeler, has secured a significant contract valued at over €20 million for an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) campaign in Taiwan. The deal, which underscores a strategic deepening of Cadeler’s presence in the booming Asia-Pacific market, will see the state-of-the-art wind installation vessel Wind Maker deployed across two offshore wind farms starting in March 2026.

This contract is more than a single business transaction; it represents a pivotal validation of Cadeler's strategic pivot towards full-lifecycle services. By leveraging its specialized Nexra concept, the company is positioning itself not just as an installer of wind farms, but as an indispensable long-term partner in the rapidly expanding global green energy infrastructure.

The contract will be executed by Nexra, a focused service concept Cadeler launched in 2025 to exclusively handle the growing offshore wind aftermarket. Today's announcement, however, highlights the concept's built-in flexibility, demonstrating its ability to call upon Cadeler's primary installation fleet, like the powerful Wind Maker, when project demands require it. This integrated approach ensures maximum fleet utilization and provides clients with a seamless service experience from initial turbine installation through decades of operation.

Taiwan's Green Ambitions Fuel Demand

The selection of Taiwan for this major O&M campaign is no coincidence. The nation has rapidly emerged as the leading offshore wind market in the Asia-Pacific region outside of mainland China, with an installed capacity of 2.25 GW as of 2023. This is just the beginning of a massive green energy push, with ambitious government targets aiming for 15 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2035. This expansion represents a planned investment of approximately €99.2 billion, transforming the nation's energy landscape.

It features a main crane capable of lifting 2,600 tonnes, a sprawling 5,400-square-meter deck, and a sophisticated jacking system that allows it to operate in water depths up to 65 meters. These specifications make it one of the few vessels in the world capable of not only installing the largest turbines but also performing complex major component exchanges on them.

The deployment of such a high-capacity vessel for an O&M campaign signals a shift in the market.
