In its first year alone, the consortium trained over 1,900 faculty members from 337 colleges across 49 states. This effort has already impacted more than 50,000 students, who are now learning hands-on skills in machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. Lead institution Miami Dade College, for instance, has seen its AI program enrollment more than double and launched Florida's first bachelor's degree in applied AI.
NAAIC's mentorship program has also proven effective at scaling these initiatives. Valencia College, after completing the mentorship program, successfully launched its own AI foundations certificate and enrolled 151 students in its first semester. This track record demonstrates NAAIC's capacity not only to develop but also to replicate successful AI education frameworks, a crucial capability as it ventures into the more complex K-12 landscape.
