The plan involves a multi-layered deployment of medical resources directly within the event's footprint on the North Shore and Downtown, all while ensuring its 14 hospitals, particularly the flagship Allegheny General Hospital (AGH), remain fully operational and accessible. AGH, a Level I trauma center located just a short distance from the draft's epicenter at Acrisure Stadium, is no stranger to the spotlight, serving as the real-life inspiration and filming backdrop for the Emmy-winning Max drama series, 'THE PITT.'

The health system has been in close collaboration with the NFL, the City of Pittsburgh, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), and even its regional competitor, UPMC. This unified front is crucial for managing an event that will temporarily swell the city's population and strain its infrastructure.

At the heart of the on-site response, a dedicated medical fort will be established near Acrisure Stadium, staffed by emergency physicians and nurses from AHN Prehospital Care and AGH. This station is designed for immediate medical support, working in seamless coordination with EMS units positioned throughout the draft's footprint to handle everything from minor injuries to more serious emergencies.

Further afield, the AHN Mobile Clinic will be stationed in Market Square, offering first aid and addressing minor health concerns to help diffuse crowds from the main event area. AHN and UPMC, the city's two largest health systems, have held weekly meetings since January to align their strategies, ensuring consistency in staffing, triage protocols, and capacity across all medical tents. This collaboration underscores a shared commitment to public health over competition.

The medical plan is also synchronized with a massive city-wide transportation strategy. With numerous street closures planned, Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) is expanding service, and a partnership with Sheetz will provide free rides on the light rail system to reduce congestion. AHN has worked directly with city and NFL officials to establish clear, unencumbered routes to AGH for patients with scheduled appointments, a critical measure to maintain continuity of care.

The national attention from the series now converges with a real-world test of the hospital's capabilities.
