Acorn Energy Taps Israeli AI Tech for Major North American Infrastructure Push
WILMINGTON, Del. – January 05, 2026 – In a significant strategic move, Acorn Energy, Inc. (Nasdaq: ACFN) today announced it is partnering with Israel-based AIO Systems, Ltd. to bring a globally-proven, AI-powered infrastructure management platform to North America. The exclusive partnership positions Acorn's OmniMetrix subsidiary as the sole distributor for AIO's advanced solutions across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, dramatically expanding its technological capabilities and targeting the continent's most critical assets: cell towers, data centers, and utility networks.
This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for Acorn, transforming it from a leader in remote monitoring into a provider of a comprehensive, predictive, and highly intelligent asset management ecosystem. By integrating AIO’s technology—already deployed at over 110,000 sites in 15 countries—OmniMetrix aims to capture a significant share of a burgeoning market for IoT-based asset management, a sector projected to reach over $13 billion in North America by 2032.
A Technological Leap for Critical Systems
For years, Acorn's OmniMetrix has been a trusted name in ensuring the reliability of backup power systems for critical infrastructure. This new partnership, however, represents a quantum leap beyond simple monitoring. AIO Systems brings a sophisticated, all-in-one IoT platform that combines hardware controllers like the EyeSite, smart sensors, and a cloud-based Central Management System (CMS) to provide a holistic view of unmanned sites.
The core of AIO’s advantage lies in its use of advanced analytics and machine learning. The platform doesn't just report problems; it aims to predict them. By analyzing data streams from various sensors, it can provide predictive information on potential battery failures, security breaches, or environmental hazards like flooding and smoke. This allows operators to move from a reactive maintenance model to a proactive one, preventing costly downtime and equipment damage.
Capabilities being introduced to the North American market under the OmniMetrix brand include:
- Smart Energy and Microgrid Management: Optimizing power consumption and managing hybrid power sources to reduce costs and environmental impact.
- Advanced Security: A multi-layered approach to prevent unauthorized facility access, grid connection tampering, and asset theft.
- Comprehensive Environmental Monitoring: Real-time tracking of temperature, humidity, and other critical environmental factors that can impact sensitive equipment in data centers and telecom shelters.
- Predictive Health Analytics: Monitoring the health of essential components like backup batteries and transformers to forecast failures before they occur.
“We are thrilled to partner with Acorn and the highly-respected OmniMetrix brand and team to build a meaningful presence for our globally-proven solutions in North America,” said Asher Avissar, Founder and Chairman of AIO Systems, in the announcement. “This collaboration leverages OmniMetrix’s strong reputation, industry-leading remote generator monitoring and control technology and commercial and industrial customer base to provide substantial business development potential for our solutions.”
The Strategic Blueprint for Growth and Efficiency
The partnership is structured to be a long-term, mutually beneficial endeavor. Under the initial five-year agreement, Acorn and AIO will share Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and monitoring revenues on a 50/50 basis after Acorn deducts its direct costs. This recurring revenue model is central to Acorn's growth strategy. Acorn will also sell AIO hardware under the OmniMetrix brand, benefiting from most-favored nation wholesale pricing.
This move firmly plants Acorn in the rapidly expanding market for data-driven infrastructure management. The growing complexity of 5G networks, the proliferation of edge data centers, and the modernization of utility grids are creating immense demand for smarter, more efficient operational tools. AIO's platform directly addresses these needs by promising tangible returns on investment through reduced power consumption, lower maintenance costs, minimized theft, and fewer regulatory fines.
Acorn CEO Jan Loeb stated, “Our partnership with AIO Systems is a win-win opportunity to substantially expand our suite of solutions, addressable market and long-term growth potential. We see growing demand for data-driven infrastructure management solutions that monitor and protect critical infrastructure.”
Looking beyond the immediate horizon, the agreement also includes a right of first refusal for Acorn to acquire AIO’s distribution rights and assets in South America. This positions the company for future international expansion into the Latin American IoT market, which is itself projected to grow to $1.5 billion by 2025, driven by similar needs for enhanced asset visibility and operational efficiency.
Investment, Integration, and the Road Ahead
Both companies acknowledge that realizing this vision will require significant upfront effort. Acorn plans to invest in new personnel and resources to support the North American launch, while AIO will provide a dedicated account manager and R&D support to adapt its platform, including its mobile app, for the new market.
Consequently, Acorn has guided that it does not expect significant revenue from the partnership in the first half of 2026. This period will be dedicated to the complex work of technical integration, training sales and support teams, and building a marketing strategy to reach new customers in the data center and utility sectors, while first introducing the expanded capabilities to OmniMetrix’s existing telecom clients.
This deliberate, phased approach is backed by Acorn's stable financial footing, with company reports indicating a strong balance sheet with more cash than debt. This allows the company to make the necessary strategic investments for long-term growth without being pressured by short-term revenue demands.
As the rollout proceeds, the collaboration will be a key indicator of Acorn Energy's ambition to become a dominant force in the next generation of intelligent infrastructure management, turning vast amounts of data into the actionable insights that will power North America's digital future.
