NYC Locker Network Expands Holiday Cheer with Toy Drive Partnership

NEW YORK, NY – November 19, 2025

Innovative Infrastructure for Social Good

GoLocker, New York City’s rapidly expanding network of secure package lockers, is partnering with the non-profit Toys for Hospitalized Children (TFHC) to streamline toy donations this holiday season. The collaboration will utilize GoLocker’s 63+ locations across Manhattan as convenient drop-off points for new, unwrapped toys destined for over 80 hospitals. The initiative aims to ease the logistical burden on TFHC and increase the volume of donations during a critical time of year.

This partnership exemplifies a growing trend of businesses leveraging existing infrastructure for social good. GoLocker, initially designed to address the challenges of package theft and delivery inefficiencies in dense urban environments, is now extending its reach to support community-focused initiatives. “It’s about more than just boxes,” explained a source familiar with GoLocker’s strategy. “We built a network that’s already integrated into the city’s fabric, and it makes sense to use that for positive impact.”

The partnership benefits TFHC by providing secure and easily accessible donation locations. Traditionally, the organization relies on corporate and community collection drives, which can be logistically complex. “Getting toys to children in hospitals isn’t always easy,” noted a TFHC representative. “This partnership offers a simple and efficient way for New Yorkers to contribute, and it expands our reach significantly.” GoLocker is providing tracking via special codes for donations, ensuring accountability and efficient delivery to TFHC’s distribution centers.

Addressing Urban Logistics & Expanding Community Impact

GoLocker’s participation in this initiative builds on its existing partnership with the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) through the LockerNYC program. Launched in April 2024, LockerNYC addresses the growing problem of package theft and aims to reduce delivery truck traffic. As of September 2025, the program boasts 70 pilot locations and has processed over 15,000 secure package pickups.

“The DOT partnership was the foundation,” a GoLocker insider revealed. “It proved our technology and network could handle significant volume and operate reliably. This toy drive is a natural extension of that – a demonstration of our commitment to the city and its residents.”

The expansion of the LockerNYC network to 70 locations and the projected growth to 1,000 locations by the 2026 holiday season underscores GoLocker’s ambitious goals. While facing competition from established players like Amazon Locker and other parcel locker startups, GoLocker distinguishes itself by offering a multi-carrier solution and a public-facing network integrated into the urban landscape.

“We’re not just competing on convenience; we’re competing on access and social impact,” said a source close to the company’s strategy. “We want to be the go-to network for all types of secure delivery and access, and that includes giving back to the community.”

Holiday Cheer & a Growing Tradition of Giving

The timing of this partnership coincides with the peak of the holiday season, a period traditionally associated with increased charitable giving. National Retail Federation data projects holiday sales to increase between 3.7% and 4.2% in November and December 2025, surpassing $1 trillion for the first time. Approximately 66% of consumers plan to donate money or items during the holiday season, indicating a strong tradition of philanthropic activity.

The partnership offers a convenient way for New Yorkers to participate in this tradition. GoLocker locations are strategically placed throughout Manhattan, offering easy access for commuters and residents. Toys donated through the network will be distributed to hospitals including The Children’s Hospital of Montefiore, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Bellevue Hospital, Queens Hospital Center, Kings County Medical Center, Maimonides Medical Center, and NYU Langone - Long Island.

“For children in hospitals, a simple toy can make a huge difference,” said a volunteer with TFHC. “It can provide comfort, distraction, and a sense of normalcy during a challenging time. This partnership will help us bring more smiles to more faces this holiday season.” The partnership is expected to facilitate the delivery of over 25,000 toys to children in need.

TFHC representatives emphasize that all donations must be new, unwrapped, and in their original packaging for health and safety reasons. The organization encourages donors to consider the age and developmental needs of the children who will receive the toys, suggesting items like books, puzzles, art supplies, and non-violent games.
