Momentive Buys Personify, Forging AI-Powered Giant in Nonprofit Tech

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – January 06, 2026 – In a move that reshapes the technology landscape for mission-driven organizations, Momentive Software today announced its strategic acquisition of Personify, a leading provider of association management software. The deal, announced just one day after Momentive unveiled its ambitious artificial intelligence platform, MomentiveIQ, creates a sector-defining powerhouse poised to serve over 37,000 nonprofits and associations worldwide.

This acquisition is the latest and most significant in a series of strategic purchases by Momentive, cementing its position as a dominant force in the nonprofit technology market. By integrating Personify's robust suite of tools for event management, member engagement, and job boards, Momentive aims to create a comprehensive, end-to-end ecosystem. The combined entity will now support a staggering 287 million members annually, signaling a new era of consolidation and AI-driven innovation for a sector historically reliant on fragmented software solutions.

A New Titan in Mission-Driven Technology

The scale of the combined operation is immense. Momentive, already serving over 20,000 organizations, now absorbs Personify's 17,000+ clients. This merger creates what Hythem El-Nazer, Co-Managing Partner at private equity firm TA Associates, called “the largest, most scalable platform for associations and nonprofits.” In a statement, El-Nazer added that the combination would deliver “unmatched innovation through continuous investment in AI, product development, and platform capabilities.”

The transaction occurs within a burgeoning market for association and membership software, which analysts project will grow from $6.28 billion in 2024 to nearly $9.6 billion by 2031. Momentive's aggressive expansion positions it to capture a significant share of that growth, moving it far ahead of competitors like Neon CRM, Wild Apricot, and a host of other specialized vendors. The company’s stated goal is to become the single, trusted technology partner for organizations, eliminating the need for multiple, disconnected systems for fundraising, learning, events, and member management.

“Our focus is set on consistently exceeding the expectations of our clients by providing game-changing and scalable solutions that empower them to maximize their impact,” remarked Dustin Radtke, Interim CEO of Momentive Software. This acquisition, he noted, is a direct reflection of that strategy.

The AI Engine at the Core

The timing of the acquisition is no coincidence. It follows directly on the heels of the January 5th launch of MomentiveIQ, a platform designed to be the intelligent core of the company's ecosystem. MomentiveIQ aims to unify fragmented data from various sources—donations, event attendance, course completions, and member activity—into a single, actionable dashboard. The platform promises to deliver AI-powered analytics, predictive insights, and automated workflows to help organizations enhance engagement and streamline operations.

The integration of Personify’s vast client base and data is central to this AI strategy. By feeding Personify’s data into the MomentiveIQ engine, the company plans to rapidly enhance its predictive analytics and personalization capabilities. For clients, this could mean AI-driven recommendations for engaging at-risk members, predicting fundraising campaign success, or automating routine administrative tasks, freeing up staff to focus on mission-critical work.

“The acquisition of Personify reinforces our focus on investing in technology and AI-powered solutions, like MomentiveIQ, that give clients exactly what they need to run their organization in one place,” Radtke explained. “This accelerates the pace at which we can provide increased value to our clients, helping them create authentic connections, manage more efficiently, and bring on better outcomes for those they serve.”

An Aggressive Growth Strategy Takes Shape

This deal is the capstone on a period of rapid, deliberate expansion for Momentive Software. The company itself was formed in July 2024 when TA Associates, a global growth private equity firm, carved out and acquired the Association & Events and Nonprofit Solutions divisions from Community Brands. Since then, Momentive has pursued an aggressive inorganic growth strategy, making this its fourth major acquisition following the purchases of volunteer management software provider VolunteerMatters, association and certification management specialist Cobalt, and learning management solutions provider Blue Sky eLearn.

This pattern of acquisition highlights a clear strategy: to assemble a complete, all-in-one platform by acquiring best-in-class solutions across every vertical relevant to mission-driven organizations. By buying rather than building in many cases, Momentive has rapidly achieved a breadth of functionality that would have taken years to develop internally. The challenge now shifts from acquisition to integration, ensuring these disparate products work together seamlessly within the new AI-powered framework.

What Lies Ahead for Customers and Members

For the 37,000 organizations now under the Momentive umbrella, the merger promises a future of streamlined efficiency and deeper constituent insights. The vision of a single, intelligent platform is compelling for leaders long frustrated by data silos and manual processes. However, it also raises questions about product integration, potential platform migrations, and customer support during the transition.

Recognizing this, Momentive has already scheduled a live virtual event, the “Momentive Software Roadmap Summit,” for January 21–23, 2026. The summit is expected to provide current and prospective clients with the first detailed look at the integrated product roadmap and the practical capabilities of MomentiveIQ. It will be a critical moment for the newly enlarged company to build confidence and articulate a clear path forward.

Scott Collison, President and CEO of Personify, expressed optimism about the future. “Joining Momentive Software marks an exciting opportunity to combine our strengths in support of mission-driven organizations and those they serve,” he said in the announcement. “As we move forward together, we will expand what’s possible for our clients with insights and tools that drive impact and foster growth.”

Operationally, the merger involves integrating approximately 250 employees from Personify into Momentive's global workforce, which will now total around 1,550. Momentive has stated that leadership roles will be evaluated to combine talent from both organizations. This human integration will be as crucial as the technological one. For the millions of members served by these organizations, the ultimate success of this mega-merger will be measured by more personalized experiences, more efficient services, and the amplified impact of the missions they support.
