According to CMT, this covers over 80% of the connected commercial vehicle market today, with 90% coverage expected by the end of the year. This allows fleets to enroll in insurance programs using their existing hardware, eliminating installation friction and accelerating adoption.
For the large segment of unconnected vehicles, particularly within small to mid-sized businesses, CMT introduces two proprietary hardware solutions that require no complex installation, phone pairing, or separate cellular plans.
* Tag Pro: A low-cost, self-powered Internet of Things (IoT) device that sticks to a vehicle’s windshield. It is designed for smaller fleets and uploads data through CMT’s proprietary mesh network, removing the need for external power or a cellular connection.
* Tag Max: A more robust device specialized for heavy commercial vehicles and long-haul fleets. It also adheres to the windshield but delivers more granular risk data via its own LTE connectivity.
This inclusive strategy effectively democratizes access to telematics-based insurance programs, ensuring that fleets of all sizes and technological capabilities can participate.

While more accurate pricing is a primary benefit for insurers, the value proposition of DriveWell Fleet extends to fleet operators themselves.
